|
Texas pitcher Van Lapointe gave the Longnecks all they could handle, but in the end, Bloomington left Bronze Sox Park with a 7-2 win. Lapointe allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits over 7 innings. Bloomington is now 23-15, while Texas is 9-29.
Bloomington used the timely hitting of Xu Cheng to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Longnecks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It feels good to get this one," Cheng told the Bloomington Observer.
