Golden Cranes Jolt Lynx with Late Rally
The Golden Cranes had to overcome a fine performance from Calgary pitcher Greg Fontenot to grab a 8-4 win at Lynx Stadium. Fontenot allowed 2 earned runs over 7 innings. Santa Barbara reliever Rizal Pacheco was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Ángel Romero took the loss for Calgary. The 8th-place Golden Cranes now have a win-loss record of 16-21.

Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of James Pike to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Golden Cranes on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Pike told the Santa Barbara Daily.
