Multi-HR Game for McCroskey in 8-6 Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from Phil McCroskey, who signed a 3-year contract worth $19,320,000 on 03/24/2039, helped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the Boston Patriots, 8-6. Northern Virginia starter Eddie Kop was credited with the win after throwing 100 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-0. Yoriyoshi Sugimoto earned the save, his 2nd, for the Rainbow Mermaids.
It could have been a different outcome for Northern Virginia, had it not been for Rylen Roersma, the 24-year old second baseman . Roersma contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Northern Virginia up, 5-3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McCroskey told the Northern Virginia Times.
Northern Virginia has an impressive 30-14 record.
