It was a good time at Lookouts Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Brinkley Belugas and Bloomington Longnecks get after it.
The Bloomington Longnecks scored a 4-3 win versus the Brinkley Belugas at Lookouts Ballpark. Bloomington pitcher Quentin Bowers nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Bowers got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 9 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. Bowers allowed 1 earned run.
Avarua, Cook Islands-born Olo Iukekini came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded and the Longnecks trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double to center to put Bloomington on top.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Bowers, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Bloomington now owns a record of 21-13.
