Supernovas Lose Again, 6-3, to Humpbacks
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks picked up a win at Nuclear Stadium, knocking off the Scranton Supernovas, 6-3. On the mound for Alaskan was right-hander Ricardo Martínez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Martínez, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Job Janssen got credit for the save for Alaskan. It was his 4th of the year.
Alaskan used the timely hitting of Takashi Noda to capture the win. The center fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Humpbacks ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We had a good game plan," Martínez said, "and we were able to execute it."
Scranton has now lost 6 consecutive games.
