Cottongame Goes Wild, But Bronze Sox Win
Santa Barbara first baseman Braxton Cottongame had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Cottongame went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, even as Texas beat the Golden Cranes, 7-6. Cottongame was named the player of the game despite the loss. Hercules Mata'afa was credited with the save for Texas, his 6th of the season. Texas is last in the Premier AAA with a record of 7-18.

José García drew 2 walks for Texas. The 30-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ángel Ruíz. It was his 9th walk of the season.

In postgame comments to the Texas News, García said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
