Both teams had their chances, but the Calgary Lynx eventually prevailed at Sacramento Sanitation Station.

The Calgary Lynx did just enough to secure a 1-0 victory over the Sacramento Redlegs at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Nobody did more than pitcher Greg Fontenot, who captured player of the game honors. Fontenot, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Picking up the save was Tekoa Kinsinger, his 1st.

The Lynx beat the Redlegs in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Henry Buckley produced in the top of the third. Batting against Sacramento pitcher Alberto Gómez, Buckley gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit a solo home run.

"I was a little disappointed," said Sacramento manager Rich Hunter. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The Lynx raised their record to 11-14.
