Lynx Top Humpbacks, 6-3
|
The Calgary Lynx trumped the Alaskan Humpbacks, 6-3, at Lynx Stadium. Calgary designated hitter Henry Buckley was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Calgary reliever Aubrey McCrimmon picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Jeff Wright was collared with the loss. Today's win puts Calgary at 10-14, while Alaskan falls to 12-12.
The Lynx got an important contribution from left fielder Hani Azwan, who in the bottom of the seventh stroked a 2-1 fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Lynx ahead, 5-3.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Buckley.
