Supernovas Walk It Off for 12th Win of Season
|
The Scranton Supernovas defeated the Texas Bronze Sox, 3-2, at Nuclear Stadium today. Leading the charge for Scranton was left fielder Ricardo Yates. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Scranton reliever Jon King picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Manuel Torres absorbed the loss. Scranton is now 12-11, Texas 5-18.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Scranton trailing 2-1, Yates hit a fastball from Manuel Torres for a 2-run home run, giving the Supernovas the walk-off win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Texas skipper Ricardo Betancourt.
