Brinkley center fielder Eikki Kankaanperä was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Bakersfield Nobles. Kankaanperä, who is tied for 8th in the PAAA in stolen bases with 5, went 2-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Belugas. Brinkley starter Jordan Guérin was credited with the win after throwing 96 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Brinkley is now 14-6.

Kankaanperä contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Brinkley in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Kankaanperä took a fastball from Ingo Abresch and stroked the double to right-center. His 4th double of the season allowed the Belugas to leap in front, 4-3.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Kankaanperä told the Brinkley Citizen.
