Brinkley starter José Pacheco put a stranglehold on the Calgary offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Belugas to a 4-1 win. Pacheco, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. With the win, Brinkley boosts its record to 8-4.

Brinkley used the bat of Baio Jianbua to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Belugas ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Jianbua.
