Tritons Prevail, 5-3, Over Bakersfield
|
The Jersey City Tritons topped the Bakersfield Nobles, 5-3, with right fielder Conor Gotaas playing a big role. Gotaas went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Tritons in the win. Yan van der Meijden was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Tritons, now 4-2, have been playing some good baseball.
Norm Chodorow was vital part of the Jersey City win. He was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third with one out, Chodorow hit a 2-run single. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Tritons.
Chodorow attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
