Shuckers Lose to Highlanders in Walk Off
The Highlanders faced a stiff challenge from Biloxi pitcher Dan Stokes, but persevered to claim a win at Asheville Park. The final score was 5-4. Stokes went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Asheville reliever Taro Kishita was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Perry MacAldonich took the loss for Biloxi. With the win, Asheville improves its record to 3-1.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Don Parker came to bat in the bottom of the 14th. Facing Biloxi pitcher Félix Fernández, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Asheville on top, 5-4.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Parker said.
