Rails Get Road Win, 3-1

The Richland Rails got a magnificent performance from pitcher Chris Holmes, who muffled the Akron offense en route to a tight 3-1 Rails win at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Muoi Hoan, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The win moves Richland to a record of 1-1.
Richland used the timely hitting of Alje de Gast to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rails on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said de Gast. "And not try to do too much."
