Fighting Dachsunds Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds beat the Hamilton Coyotes, 9-6, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Ellenburg first baseman Lowell Evans earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Arturo Mesa got credit for the win, improving to 5-10. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 6.1 innings. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Fighting Dachsunds.
Louie Shufflebotham had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the second for Ellenburg. With the bases loaded and the Fighting Dachsunds leading 3-2, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Ellenburg manager Jason Stewart.
