5 Straight Wins for Racers

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Axel Ruschmeyer, the Indianapolis Racers defeated the Augusta Timber Hawks, 6-3. Ruschmeyer was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Racers. Forest Bell got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Mariano Bueno sewed up the save, his 11th.
Indianapolis grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Ruschmeyer, who is tied for 4th in the 3AAA in total bases with 158, hit a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season put the Racers out in front, 3-2.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ruschmeyer. "And not try to do too much."
The first-place Racers have won 5 straight games.
