Coyotes Drop Another One
|
With right fielder Carsello Scruggins leading the charge, the Milton Dogfish Head defeated the Hamilton Coyotes, 6-2, at Milton Corner Tavern. Scruggins, who is tied for 6th in the 3AAA with a .888 OPS, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Todd Serrano got the win, improving to 7-6. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Milton has 3 straight wins, Hamilton 5 straight losses.
Scruggins contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Milton in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Scruggins took a curveball from Freddy Campos and stroked the home run to left. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Dogfish Head to leap in front, 3-2.
In postgame comments, Scruggins told the Milton Herald: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
