Big Day for Sarkies as Voodoo Down Flamingos, 8-0

The New Orleans Voodoo bested the Las Vegas Flamingos, 8-0, at The Strip. Rod Sarkies was named player of the game. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Germán Rodríguez, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Flamingos to no earned runs on 2 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The Flamingos, now 8-29, have lost 6 in a row.
New Orleans used a timely hit from Richard Jost to get the win. The third baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the first inning to put the Voodoo on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Jost, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
