Pennsauken used a superb performance from starting pitcher Fred Gunther to down the Houston BC, 2-1. Gunther picked up the win for Pennsauken, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-5. The second-place Flyers improved to 41-33.
Pennsauken used the timely hitting of Bras Castanheta to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Flyers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Pennsauken manager Willis Crawford. "Our pregame was pretty good."
