Houston BC starter Patrick Ibáñez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 5-3. Bobby Roode notched his 15th save in 16 chances. Houston now has a 3-game win streak.

Houston used the bat of José Vera to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the BC ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"It feels good to get this one," Vera told the Houston Gazette.
