Victory Over Fighting Dachsunds Takes Indianapolis to 41-25
|
The Indianapolis Racers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Buzzy Grossman, who muffled the Ellenburg offense en route to a tight 2-1 Racers win at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Grossman picked up the win for Indianapolis, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Indianapolis leads the Menard's AAA by 4½ games.
Spartak Gonjarov put Indianapolis in front, 2-0, when he took Arturo Mesa downtown. His solo home run came with no one out in the top of the fifth. It was his 5th home run of the season.
"I liked his command," said Indianapolis manager Ramón Pantoja. "Buzzy was throwing strikes."
