Indianapolis and Ellenburg got after it at Dog Park in Ellenburg.
The Indianapolis Racers took Ellenburg pitcher Shihab bin Salim's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The final score had Indianapolis getting past the Fighting Dachsunds, 11-2. bin Salim went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 6. Markus Martin earned the save for Indianapolis, his 1st.
It could have been a different outcome for Indianapolis, had it not been for Chris Walters, the 30-year old catcher . Walters contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Indianapolis up, 4-2.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Walters told the Indianapolis Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
Indianapolis goes to 40-24. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
