Timber Hawks Top Coyotes to Even Record
|
The Hamilton Coyotes and Augusta Timber Hawks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Coyote Wildlife Refuge.
Alan Shaw did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Hamilton Coyotes from losing, 8-5, to the Augusta Timber Hawks at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Shaw hit 2 home runs. Santiago Ramírez picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-4.
It could have been a different outcome for Augusta, had it not been for Junior Young, the former first round draft pick . Young contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Augusta up, 4-2.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Young said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
With the victory, the Timber Hawks record now stands at 26-26.
