Close Win Moves Fighting Dachsunds to 26-24
|
Despite a great performance by Pawnee first baseman Dan Vanblarcom, the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds defeated the ParksNRec by the score of 8-7 at Whips Ballpark. Vanblarcom was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Walt Coffman picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Michael Leonard took the loss. Ellenburg goes to 26-24, Pawnee to 24-26.
Ellenburg took a 8-7 lead on Lowell Evans's 48th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Evans hit in the top of the seventh, left Pawnee pitcher Michael Leonard shaking his head.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Evans said after the game.
