Late Rally by BC Secures Win
|
The Houston BC scored a 4-3 win versus the Hamilton Coyotes at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Houston pitcher Patrick Ibáñez nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The winning pitcher was Ibáñez, now 5-2. He tossed 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. Bobby Roode recorded his 13th save for Houston.
Houston used the clutch hitting of Rich Watkins to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to give the BC the lead, 4-2. For the game, Watkins had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Hamilton manager Ken Beach. "But we decided not to take it."
The 5th-place BC have won 4 in a row.
