Fighting Dachsunds Pin 6-4 Loss on Red Pandas
|
Sioux Falls got a terrific game from right fielder Manuel Estrada. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ellenburg, 6-4. Estrada was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The save went to Marcos Oquendo, his 2nd this season. The 5th-place Fighting Dachsunds are now 23-20, the Red Pandas 21-22.
Arvi Sutinen dealt the Red Pandas a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Ellenburg leading 1-0, Sutinen, who is tied for 7th in the 3AAA in hits with 47, hit a 0-1 slider for a 2-run double.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Sutinen told the Ellenburg Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."
