Dogfish Head Win at Ellenburg, 7-3
|
The Milton Dogfish Head racked up a win at Dog Park in Ellenburg, bumping off the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 7-3. Todd Serrano, who started for Milton, pitched effectively for his team. In 7.1 innings, Serrano surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Gunner Cross earned the save, his 3rd, for the Dogfish Head.
Milton used the timely hitting of Seika Hagiwara to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Dogfish Head ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"Todd's tempo and rhythm were good," said Dogfish Head manager Craig Sunter. "He was the key to us winning."
The Dogfish Head now own a record of 18-22.
