Rainbow Mermaids Bang Out 8-1 Win Versus Portland
It was a fun time at Atlantica, where the Portland Evergreens and Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids tangled.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at Atlantica, knocking off the Portland Evergreens, 8-1. Starting pitcher Ton Jobse, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Jobse, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run.

The tension was thick in the top of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded and Portland trailing 5-1, Ton Jobse had to get a big out. On a full count cutter, he retired Jeff Solís, who struck out.

At 3-0, the Rainbow Mermaids have played well so far.
