New Orleans Voodoo starter Gary Ashley was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Portland Evergreens, 6-2. Grover Lowdermilk locked down his 11th save. The Voodoo improve their record to 20-10 with the win over Portland.

New Orleans used the clutch hitting of Weston Doyle to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Voodoo the lead, 3-2. For the game, Doyle had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Ashley, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
