Flyers Turn Back Timber Hawks, 4-2
|
The Pennsauken Flyers picked up a win at Timber Hawks Ballpark, knocking off the Augusta Timber Hawks, 4-2. Starting pitcher Fred Gunther played a key role in the triumph. Pennsauken is now 17-13.
Pennsauken used the timely hitting of Charles Geudre to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Flyers ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"It's a mindset," said Gunther. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
