Flyers Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Pennsauken right-hander Fred Gunther made an effective start against the Salt Lake City Buzz at Pennsauken Park, leading his team to a 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Gunther, now 3-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. J.J. Spencer recorded his 1st save for Pennsauken.
Pennsauken took a 3-0 lead on Jesús Román's 5th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Román hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Salt Lake City pitcher Alejandro Araya shaking his head.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Gunther told the Pennsauken Today.
With their winning streak at 4, the Flyers have raced to a strong start this season.
