Great Effort by Jost Wasted in 10-8 Voodoo Loss
|
New Orleans third baseman Richard Jost had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Jost hit 3 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored three times, even as Portland beat the Voodoo, 10-8. Jost was named the player of the game despite the loss. Cristián Moreno was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. The Evergreens improved to 10-18.
Kameron Guangorena, who is tied for 6th in the PL in doubles with 8, came through for Portland with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the second. The catcher went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 5 RBI.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Guangorena told the Portland Gazette. "You win just by scoring more runs."
