Shaw Helps Coyotes Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Hamilton Coyotes stopped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 6-3, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The Coyotes got a big game from Alan Shaw, who went 4-4 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Hamilton reliever Isaias Leurink picked up the win to move to 1-0. Arturo Mesa suffered the loss. Kevin Pilkington recorded his 3rd save for Hamilton.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Elia Amberezzio hit a single. The Coyotes went on to win.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Shaw.
The Fighting Dachsunds fall to 3-7 and continue their wobbly start to the 2039 season.
