BC Subdue Augusta, 3-1
|
The Houston BC got a magnificent performance from pitcher Harvey Wyles, who stifled the Augusta offense en route to a 3-1 BC win at Houston Park. Houston is off to a hot start at 6-2.
Walt Miller had a big run-scoring single for the BC in the bottom of the third inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Santiago Ramírez and stroked the single to center. It was his 8th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the BC ahead, 2-0.
Wyles told a Houston Gazette reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
