Racers Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
A 3-RBI performance from Axel Ruschmeyer, who is rated as the 8th best prospect by BNN, helped the Indianapolis Racers beat the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 7-5. Jessie Young went 6 innings for Indianapolis to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 5 earned runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record improves to 1-0. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Oakland Scanlan.
Indianapolis grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Ruschmeyer, who is rated as the 8th best prospect by BNN, hit a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season put the Racers out in front, 5-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ruschmeyer. "And not try to do too much."
The win gives the Racers a record of 2-3.
