Multi-HR Day for McCoy as Knights Overpower Browns, 7-4
|
The Kingston Township Knights beat the Cleveland Browns, 7-4, at Factory of Sadness. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Daniel McCoy, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. Dale Snider earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Kingston Township, now 8-13, is off to a slow start.
Kingston Township needed the clutch hitting of Takenao Wakabayashi to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Knights on top, 4-0. For the game, Wakabayashi had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Wakabayashi told the Kingston Township Chronicle.
