Late Rally by Lakers Secures Win
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
Montana got a terrific game from catcher Anselmo Berneu. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Echo Park, 8-7. Berneu was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. With the win, Echo Park goes to 9-8.
Echo Park won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Marcos Mesorana on the mound for Montana, first baseman Tomás Muinos hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Lakers fans to their feet.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Muinos.
