Northern Lions BC Stumble, Lose to Battery
|
The Charleston Battery beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 8-4, at Charleston Armory. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Datu Lesaca, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Charleston is in second place in the Silver League with a record of 65-43.
Joey Coco put Charleston in front, 3-2, when he hit a 2-run home run off Ralph DePalma in the bottom of the third. It was his 16th home run of the season.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lesaca said after the game.
