Dirty Reds Lose, 3-2, at The Lighthouse
|
The Long Island Lighthouse got a stellar effort from pitcher Rook Ellington, helping Long Island score a 3-2 win over the visiting San Mateo Dirty Reds. Ellington got the win, improving to 5-12. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Ellington allowed 1 earned run. With the win, the Lighthouse improved to 47-61.
The Lighthouse grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fifth. With two out, Oliver Villalva hit a solo home run off António Muńóz, putting Long Island in front, 3-1. For Villalva, it was his 11th home run of the season.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Ellington said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
