Multi-HR Day for Morales as Cattlemen Overpower Bowties, 8-7
|
Fans who came to 5 Paces Park watched the Ft. Worth Cattlemen and the Buckhead Bowties fight to the finish.
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen grabbed a 8-7 win over the Buckhead Bowties at 5 Paces Park. Ft. Worth right fielder Jesús Morales was 3-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice to earn player of the game honors. Ft. Worth reliever Jerry Hamm picked up the win to move to 1-0. Randy Gabaldon suffered the loss.
It could have been a different outcome for Ft. Worth, had it not been for Semo Hoaloha, the 25-year old first baseman . Hoaloha contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Ft. Worth up, 8-7.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Morales.
The third-place Cattlemen are now 57-50, the Bowties 48-59.
