Northern Lions BC Trounce Battery, 12-3
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC knocked off the Charleston Battery, 12-3, at Charleston Armory. Domingo Altamiraño, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Thunder Bay won. The second baseman was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Thunder Bay occupies 7th place in the Silver League at 49-58.
Thunder Bay needed the clutch hitting of Jason Slaybaugh to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Northern Lions BC on top, 4-3. For the game, Slaybaugh had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I really like what we did out there today," Slaybaugh said after the game.
