Shredders Edge BC, 8-7
|
The Hollywood Shredders outlasted Eddie Sachs and the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 8-7. Sachs was impressive in the loss. The Philadelphia 1776 designated hitter was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Hollywood reliever José Villarreal picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. Amando Codes was collared with the loss. With the win, Hollywood goes to 14-8, while the BC fall to 7-15.
Kanko Umaba drove in one run for Hollywood. The slugging left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring ground out off José Cotilla. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
"We got the victory," said Umaba. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
