Buckhead got a terrific game from center fielder Charles Godard. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Charleston, 7-6. Godard was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Miguel Angel Martínez earned the win to go to 8-5. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Branlyn Jaraba notched his 11th save in 13 chances.

Charleston used the timely hitting of Moriz Ayushiev to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Battery ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"I like winning," Ayushiev told the Charleston Gazette. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."

Charleston now has a 3-game win streak.
