Rainbow Mermaids Walk Off with 3-2 Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids walked off with a big win today at Atlantica.

Northern Virginia beat Boston at Atlantica, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Ricardo García, who earned player of the game honors. The winner was Henry Henry in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Tae-ho Ch'oe took the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop José Santos came to bat in the bottom of the 21st. Facing Boston pitcher Tae-ho Ch'oe, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Northern Virginia on top, 3-2.

"This place was jumping at the end," García said.

The Patriots, now 7-14, continue their poor start.
