The San Mateo Dirty Reds topped the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 7-3, in United States Silver League action at The Cattle Pen. The player of the game was San Mateo designated hitter Eddie Neef. San Mateo's record now stands at 46-48, placing them 4th in the Silver League.

It could have been a different outcome for San Mateo, had it not been for Jesús Vargas, the 33-year old right fielder . Vargas contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put San Mateo up, 3-2.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Neef said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
