Drabek Bewilders Harbor Whales Saturday, June 19th, 2038 Cecil Drabek of the Northwest Territory Beavers was on top of his game today. The 19-year-old tantalized the Greenport Harbor Whales with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 2-0 shutout. "He had the changeup working," Greenport manager Fernando Mendoza said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Northwest Territory hurler had 7 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 4 hits in his complete-game effort. Drabek told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league." "If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said. Drabek has made 10 starts, tossed 52.1 innings, struck out 41 batters and walked 16. His record is 2-6 with a 6.36 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .335 batting average.
