Artemio Mondragon Out for Season
Thursday, September 2nd, 2038
The doctors have spoken and Artemio Mondragon of the Germantown Uruguayans didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Mondragon sustained his season-ending injury during the Sheridan Deer game yesterday at Ballpark of Albuquerque. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Germantown medical staff reported Mondragon had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
For the season Mondragon is 1-and-0 with no saves and a 5.60 ERA. He has given up 39 hits in 35.1 innings with 31 strikeouts.
