Amarillo's Hernández Sidelined for Season
Tuesday, August 31st, 2038
Amarillo starting pitcher Steve Hernández could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn labrum. He exited yesterday's Sheridan game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Hernández would be out 5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

On the season Hernández has compiled a 6-4 mark with a 3.39 ERA in 20 starts. In pitching 93 innings he has 69 strikeouts and 25 walks while limiting the opposition to a .281 batting average.
