Hotspur Academy Captures Wild Card Monday, September 7th, 2037 The Phoenix Hotspur Academy clubhouse was filled with loud music and revelry late into the night, as the team celebrated a USSL Rookie wild card position. The team, whose record stands at 57-39, battled throughout the year, but ultimately saw the quest for the playoffs come down to the season's final games. "I'd be lying if I said we knew we were going to make it," said second baseman Julián Vélez. "We did have confidence, but in the back of your mind you always wonder what's going to happen. There were some good teams pushing us." Now the Hotspur Academy don't have to worry, as they are in position to potentially win the 1st USSL Rookie championship in franchise history. |
