Redwood Halts Lesley's Hitting Steak Sunday, September 5th, 2038 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 22-game hitting streak, Surprise third baseman Ernest Lesley went hitless in 5 at-bats today at The Zoo. The sudden hitting drought came as the Shockers took the 5-1 win over the Redwood Rhinos. "Nope, it's not magic," Lesley said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." This season Lesley is batting .307 with 3 home runs. |
